The Chamber announced this week its endorsement of all three sitting commissioners who face re-election this November: Commissioners Terence Farrell, Michelle Kichline and Kathi Cozzone.

“We believe all three candidates will continue to lead Chester County to be the driving force behind the economic prosperity and workforce development,” President and CEO

said. “As individuals and as a team, they have contributed to Chester County’s economic growth — and set forth the groundwork to continue that growth for generations.”

Cozzone and Farrell have both served on the county board for eight years.

“It is a privilege to be endorsed by such an esteemed organization as the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry,” said Farrell, currently the board chairman. “Such an endorsement, I believe, is a testament not only to the good work we are doing as the Board of Commissioners, but more importantly and precisely, it is recognition of the great work our department heads and their staffs do every day on behalf of the citizens of Chester County. It is on behalf of our county employees that I am pleased to accept this honor.”

And the value of the county-Chamber partnership is mutually shared.

“The partnership between the county and the Chamber will be essential as the county continues to work to ensure that our citizens have the skills necessary for the jobs that are available and those that will be created here,” Cozzone said.

Kichline is the relative newcomer to the board, having been appointed to fill the vacancy left by former Commissioner Ryan Costello’s election to the U.S. Congress. She has served since Dec. 16, 2014.

“The Chamber has been a great partner with the county in supporting local businesses and economic development,” Kichline said. “Because of that partnership, Chester County is at the forefront of regional job growth and has one of the lowest regional unemployment rates. As the county looks ahead to the next 10 years, the Chamber will continue to be a critical partner.”

Chester County residents have the opportunity to cast their votes for two candidates, with the top three vote-getters elected to serve starting January 2016.
