Investors in Philadelphia have crunched the numbers and run simulations on the future prospects for a young but growing health care learning simulation software maker in Chadds Ford, and the optimistic grade it received has translated into nearly $2 million of Series A funding for DecisionSim.

“We were attracted to DecisionSim, Inc., because of the versatility and effectiveness of its software platform across all types of learners and devices, which sets it apart from other simulation technologies,” Rittenhouse Ventures Founder and Managing Partner Bruce Luehrs told the Philadelphia Business Journal for a recent report. “We believe DecisionSim is a sustainable learning approach with limitless potential.”
Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania pitched in $350,000 on top of Rittenhouse’s $1.5 million commitment.

DecisionSim plans to utilize the investment to add 10 new staff to the current 25-person workforce and implement new software enhancements that make its platform more mobile-friendly with better data and insights for simulation users — the physicians and medical students who jump into the middle of a patient health issue via pre-recorded videos. “Our goal is to help clinicians make good decisions and make sure their patients understand those decisions,” CEO Bob Yayac said in the article.
