September 10th is the 253rd day of the year leaving 112 days remaining until the end of the year. On this date in 1972, the United States suffered its first loss ever of an international basketball game in a disputed match against the Soviet Union at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany.

There are a whole slate of activities happening across Chester County today including:

Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry’s 2015 Shale Bus Tour will visit of Sunoco Logistics, Monroe Energy, and Braskem all located in Marcus Hook, PA.

The Grand Opening of BiZtract, a new Great Valley-based collaborative office environment for the entrepreneur, small business person, tech startup or solopreneur, runs all day Thursday with speakers and special events scheduled throughout the day.

The Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce and the Parkesburg Area Business Association will co-host a Progressive Networking event.  Participants will walk around Parkesburg visiting businesses as they go.

United Way of Chester County’s Live United In Music Beatlemania Now event.  Limited tickets to the Citadel sponsored events are still available.

Exton Region Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Annual Dinner at the Desmond Hotel in Great Valley.  This year’s keynote speaker is St. Joseph University’ basketball coach Phil Martelli.

Penn State Great Valley’s Henry Gallery will host an opening reception for A Celebration of Artists with Disabilities art exhibit. The exhibit showcases the works of 30 artists from Art Ability, a program of Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital and runs through October 9, 2015.

Chester County’s business calendar calms down a bit Friday, September 11th with just three primary events:

The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce hosts a professional development seminar titled “Cash Flow . . . Managing Your Money.”  The two hour seminar at the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club begins at 8:00 AM.

Pennsylvania BIO hosts a CEO Roundtable of well-known speakers including Robert Radie, President & CEO of Egalet, who share a wide variety of backgrounds in the life sciences industry at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge at 7:15 AM.

The Coatesville VA Medical Center hosts a job fair for area veterans on their campus in Coatesville.
