Vanguard Criticizes the Federal Reserve for Following Market ‘Noise’ over Fundamentals

According to Roger Aliaga-Diaz, senior economist for Vanguard, the Federal Reserve has fallen victim to the same forces as most inexperienced investors, believing that real-time market noise says more about the economy of the United States than fundamental economic indicators.

In response to the decision by the Fed to not increase interest rates, the financial giant put out a statement in which Aliaga-Diaz comments that he was unhappy with the Fed’s inaction, and the element of “paradoxical” reasoning behind it.

“We are concerned with the Fed’s acknowledgement of recent market volatility in its decision,” said Aliaga-Diaz. “The Fed runs the risk of being held captive to the markets, as, paradoxically, much of that volatility is due to the anticipation and uncertainty around when the Fed will move.”

Started by Keith Ladd in 1975, the Protection Bureau based in Exton, is celebrating 40 years of business.

Ladd founded the Protection Bureau and lead the company as CEO until his death six years ago. Along with his family, he helped to grow it into one of the top 10 security integrators in the country.

Today, Ladd’s children have taken over the reins of the company, with his son J. Matthew Ladd now the President and CEO. Karen Ladd Baker is a Senior Vice President.

“I think it’s important to know that my sister and I were not just handed the company by my father,” said J. Matthew Ladd, who serves on the SSI editorial advisory board. “We were an active participant in its growth, and from the beginning we embraced the legacy our father created and continued to work to future success.

Dressage at Devon Selects poster Artist, Names Beneficiaries

Dressage at Devon has chosen Frederique Poulain to create the artwork for its 2015 show poster. Poulain’s concept for the 40th anniversary poster artwork is a black and white horse gradually transforming into a fully colored horse–representing the present while acknowledging the past.

“The two horses are tied up by the banner and the grey horse is made with “gris colores where I add grey in the color to reflect the past,” explains Poulain from there it is “graduating to the colors using a shading brush stroke.” The original painting, by woodcrafter, Paul Sicchio, will be raffled off at the show.

Dressage at Devon, the world’s largest open breed show, focuses in part on the furtherance of dressage education. Beneficiaries for this year include Delaware Valley Combined Training Association, The Dressage Foundation, Sebastian Riding Associates, and Work to Ride.
