For the third year in a row, Good Neighbor Pharmacy has been ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Chain Drug Stores” by the J.D. Power U.S. Pharmacy Study.

Besides taking the top honor in its category for the past three years, the national independent pharmacy network consisting of over 3,200 pharmacies, has also been recognized for its achievements in 2010 and 2011.

The J.D. Power study, now in its ninth year, focuses on five primary factors: prescription ordering; store; cost competitiveness; non-pharmacist staff; and the pharmacist. It then uses a 1,000-point scale is used to calculate satisfaction. The 2015 study was based on responses from almost 15,000 pharmacy customers, who have either filled or refilled a prescription during the three-month survey period.

Good Neighbor Pharmacy which is sponsored by AmerisourceBergen, achieved a Customer Satisfaction Index score of 876, significantly higher than the average score of 842. It also achieved the highest rating of a 5 in the J.D.Power.com Power Circle Ratings, one of the very few consumer ratings compiled from verified product and service owner’s independent and unbiased feedback.

Among the key findings was that 44 percent of customers who speak with the pharmacist while in the store “strongly agree they feel loyal to their pharmacy,” as opposed to the 35 percent of those who do not.

That satisfaction improves even further when customers feel that they are provided with some discretion and a private area for discussion. The other key finding is that pharmacies which offer health services increase the purchase of non-prescription items by over a third.
