A splash of frosty color is now flowing from the taps of a newly redesigned destination for cool treats in downtown Phoenixville. Cool Twists is halfway through its first summer of offering frozen yogurt creations along the city’s popular Bridge Street.

“It sounded fun,” Rhea Lastick said of the joint venture with her daughter, Jaimie, according to a Daily Local News report. “We kind of changed it up and put our own stamp on it. We’ve been doing very well. I love Phoenixville. We’re independent. We’re not a franchise.”

The mother-daughter team left jobs in health care to pursue something new, and their creativity comes out in the yogurt as well as the walls of the treat shop, where artwork and chalkboards abound.

“It sort of makes it a representation of us and our creativity,” Lastick added. “That’s what we like here. We put gallery tracks up so local schools can put up their work, if they’d like, for display. When the kids come in, we put up the chalkboards and they color.”

And personality extends to the fro-yo, where customers can pick from a number of unique toppings and mix and match to their heart’s desire.

“We twist them, so they can blend it together if they like, or they can mix them up and pull from every handle if they want,” Lastick explained. “Whatever you can create in your cup is what you can do.”

The resulting treat is priced by weight, and Cool Twists also provides two dairy-free and two gluten-free options.
