Last week I discussed the importance of video to promote your business. This week I’d like to share the “how-to” that I presented at the June 25 Network at Noon.
Watch the video tutorial at the end of this post as an example of a video you can create.
With the right tools, it’s easy to create a video for your business. It’s fun, too! Here is how its done:
1. Write a script for the audio portion of your video – keep it short
2. Download “Audacity” recording software – it’s free! http://web.audacityteam.org/
3. Record the script on Audacity, using a microphone connected to your computer, or a headset with built-in microphone
4. When saving the audio file, select “Export” and save the MP4 file in your computer
5. Now go to Powtoon and create a free account: http://www.powtoon.com/
6. Once into your account, In the upper right corner click “Create”
7. Click “Slides” for a template or click “Studio” to start from scratch
8. Use “Slides” for a good basic easy to make PowToon video
9. Use “Studio” to customize a unique and special video
10. Click the Blank template if you chose “Studio”
11. You will then be presented with an editing panel
12. On the right side you will see Text Effects, Image holders, animation, props, backgrounds, markers, action buttons, shapes, transitions, and backgrounds. You can use these to create your PowToon video!
13. On the left are your slides
14. At the bottom are your timeline and your slide timer
15. At the top is where you can upload music, voiceovers, images, videos, and save your project
Now you can upload your video to YouTube, your website, Facebook – Wherever! And when you send a press release or article to VISTA Today, be sure to include a link to a specific video or your YouTube channel.
