Community Champion Renée C. Fairconeture Putting Kids In Charge Of Philanthropy
A new leader with expertise in seeding economic revitalization will now lead a new effort to plant a heart of philanthropy in local youth.
Seasoned program manager Renée C. Fairconeture has been transplanted to the Brandywine Health Foundation to cultivate the launch of its Youth Philanthropy Program, underwritten by Citadel.
Utilizing award-winning experience leading Modena Borough, developing Camphill Soltane Foundation, directing Chester County’s Healthy Start Program and managing Coatesville’s Weed and Seed economic development, law enforcement and anti-crime initiative — as well as advising the federal government’s nationwide Weed and Seed Program — Fairconeture will help Brandywine provide Coatesville youth with the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills and learn about the world of grantmaking by setting funding priorities, soliciting and reviewing proposals, conducting site visits and awarding $15,000 each year to nonprofits.
She has also helped launch Community Dental of Chester County and gives back through the Rotary Club of Coatesville and the PI Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences.
Of the $1 million fundraising goal for the Coatesville Youth Initiative, $100,000 was initially earmarked to support the Youth Philanthropy Program’s first five years.
