AmerisourceBergen Catapults 12 Slots On Fortune 500 Ranking

cov06-15_layerswebAmerisourceBergen (NYSE: ABC), the national drug distributor headquartered in Chesterbook, vaulted twelve positions from 28th to 16th overall on Fortune magazine’s list of the top 500 US Corporations based on annual sales.

The magazine’s 2015 list hit newsstands and the Internet Thursday.

A long-term  agreement with Walgreens drug store chain and the acquisition of MWI Veterinary Supply last fall fueled AmerisourceBergen’s unprecedented leap.

Those Orange Trucks Haul Down Another National Award

A. Duie Pyle, the West Chester-based regional trucking and logistics company known for their ubiquitous orange cabs and courteous drivers, has been named BP Lubricant’s 2014 LTL Carrier of the Year. BP is a global lubricants leader, producing lubricants for every conceivable application on land, sea, and in the air.

Pyle was selected based on a number of criteria measuring each carrier’s performance in on-time delivery and pick-up service, accident prevention, CSA rating (Compliance, Safety, Accountability), EDI acceptance, and shipment volume.

Three carriers were finalists for the award, with on-time delivery performance differentiating Pyle from the competition.

Sungard Readies IPO

6.5.2014 sungardTen years after going private, The Philadelphia Business Journal reported Thursday, Sungard, the Wayne-based provider of software and services to education, financial services, and public sector organizations, hopes to raise $750 million in a planned IPO.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal is reporting this morning, SunGard is also considering takeover offers.

The money raised by the IPO will be used to pay down debt.

The number of shares, the price range, the date of the offering and the stock exchange listing for the initial public offering remain undetermined according to the report.

Shipping Shoes To Orphaned Ebola Children

feet4-555cb505b4d50In Ian’s Boots, a North Coventry-based public charity providing shoes and boots to those in need, has been selected as a partner in OPERATION CRUSH EBOLA!

The Coalition is a collaborative of Pennsylvania residents and organizations coming together to give care to the three most affected Ebola countries in West Africa: Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.

As always, the littlest and most helpless victims are the children, orphaned by Ebola. These children are wearing nothing but slippers, flip-flops and bare feet.

This is one of the largest overseas shipments of shoes ever undertaken and donations are appreciated.
