Brandywine Health Foundation kicked off their “must go” 42nd annual Brandywine Strawberry Festival Thursday evening.

What began in 1973 as a one-day event on the grounds of the Coatesville City Hall, has grown into a four-day extravaganza on the ground of Brandywine Hospital attracting over 25,000 guests.

In addition to the promise of an amazing time at this wonderful community event, you will be supporting important community groups in Coatesville.

The proceeds from the 2015 Strawberry Festival directly support local community initiatives including the Coatesville Youth Initiative, Coatesville Public Library, Thorndale Fire Company and Coatesville Rotary Club.

The Festival features many affordable activities specifically geared toward children including:

Strawberryland for Kids

• Strawberryland features tons of activities for young kids, by far the most popular area at the Strawberry Festival last year.
• Strawberryland includes a Moon Bounce, Inflatable Obstacle Course, Inflatable Slides, free carnival games and much more for the very affordable, all-inclusive price of $10 a day.
• This area is recommended for kids 7 and younger.

Discounted Rides – Reduced Ride Ticket Prices (one less ticket per ride)

• Saturday, May 30th from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Sunday, May 31st from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Strawberriest Kid Contest

• The Ever Popular Strawberriest Kid Contest will be held on Sunday, May 31st at 2 pm.
• Bring your child (up to age 5) dressed in their strawberry finest and enter to win one of several berry great prizes!
• Register you child at the Gazebo during the Festival (Registration closes Sunday, May 31st @ 1:00 pm).
• Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners: Top Berry, Strawberry Shortcake and Strawberry Jam!

Fireworks

• Scheduled for Friday, May 29th! Rain Date: Saturday, May 30th
