The new design reflects shifting attitudes on work/life integration.

A modern new strategy for creating the perfect work environment is playing out in East Whiteland, where Malvern-based Liberty Property Trust is wiping clean a slate of nine ‘70s- and ‘80s-built office buildings in order to resurrect more than 1 million square feet.

The great vision for Great Valley Corporate Center is for “three high-end apartment buildings with 800 units, a hotel with 125 to 130 rooms, office space totaling 820,000 square feet, 25,000 square feet of retail, parking garages as well as community space that would be constructed in three phases,” according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report.033115Greatvalley

“You need a sense of place, and we’re trying to create that here,” Vice President Tony Nichols Jr. said in the article.

And the goal is to keep that place hopping all hours of the day.

“We’re not sure yet how far we will take this,” Regional Director James J. Mazzarelli Jr. said. “This will set the tone for where Great Valley is going. If this is successful, it will raise the value of all real estate in the park.”

The long-researched strategy conforms to the work life desires of a generation of digital natives and has been tested in smaller pieces, like the 200,000 square feet at Vanguard Group’s Three Quarry Ridge.
