Chester Valley Trail Opens Saturday

By

The Chester Valley Trail.

Get the family together to lace up your shoes or pump up your bike tires and hit the Chester Valley Trail running on Saturday morning for a chance to grab refreshments and prizes up and down the 13-mile stretch. America’s opening day for trail season invites residents to think spring and get outside from 9 a.m. to noon.

New trail maps and bike helmets highlight the list of giveaways, while new Bike Fix-It Stations will be unveiled and free helmet fittings for children and toddlers will be provided. Most of the activities and vendors will set up around the Chester  Valley Trail’s four major access points: the Exton Trail Head, East Whiteland Township Building, PNC Bank in Malvern and the West Lakes Trail Head.

The festivities are being put together by the Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC), Chester County Facilities and Parks Department, the Friends of the Chester Valley Trail, and Bike Chester County.

Read more about the opening day event on the TMACC website here and check out trail amenities and future plans to extend the Exton-to-King of Prussia trail to the Struble Trail in Downingtown and the Schuylkill River Trail in Norristown on the official Chester Valley Trail website here.
