Blending nature, science and art is proving to be a successful business philosophy for Galer Estate Vineyard & Winery of Kennett Square.

The winery at 700 Folly Hill Road was recently awarded “Best In Class” and a gold medal for its 2013 Chardonnay at the International Eastern Wine Competition in Sonoma Ca. They also won a Bronze Medal for its 2013 Albariño, Chaddsfordlive.com is reporting. Galer Estate is the only winery in Pennsylvania to win “Best in Class” in this competition.

The boutique winery produces and sells wine made from Chester County grapes and has so far won over 90 international and national awards and medals since opening in 2011.

If you’re looking for a winter outing, visit Galer Estate on the first Friday of each month when it releases a new wine and pairs it with meats and cheeses from the Country Butcher. The winery also offers music from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
