The family-run drive-up ice cream hot spot in Parkesburg is ramping up to serve a brand new treat to its fans once the mercury begins to rise. A hard-to-miss checkerboard paint scheme and modern walk-up window awning are already drawing double-takes to the brand new, year-round Bell’s Delites.
The first round of excitement in the new development, though, came with a locally popular Facebook video of the demolition of the ‘60s-era building. “It was good to post that and have people find out and get excited about what we’re going to do,” co-owner Nicole Okolowicz said in a Daily Local News report.
“Although the old building had sentimental value,” the article stated, “they felt it was time to say goodbye to it and make way for a new, more practical building with more space and new features.”
More parking and five to 10 more employees are expected when the evening hot spot reopens, tentatively in mid-April after PennDOT signs off on newly-poured curbing.
