Wave of Leases For Liberty Property Trust

By

A post-recession mindset of expansion and a new Pennsylvania Turnpike interchange at Route 29 between Malvern and King of Prussia have combined to unlock new potential for corporate offices, and Malvern-headquartered Liberty Property Trust raked in a rash of new late-year lease commitments that brought its 2014 total beyond 750,000 square feet.

“I think it’s indicative of how companies have matured coming out of the recession,” Vice President Tony Nichols Jr. said in a Philadelphia Business Journal report.

For businesses that had short-term leases expire or were holding off on additional office space during the recession, economic conditions are now ripe for expansion.

And the new turnpike access, along with a widened Route 202, “have created a loop between King of Prussia and Malvern that has started to ‘merge’ the two markets together” rather than put them at odds for corporate recruiting, the article stated.
