Ed Breiner, retired president and CEO of Schramm, Inc. in West Chester, and his wife Julianne, donated $1.9 million to Bloomsburg University to establish the university’s first endowed professorship in support of an exceptional teacher, mentor and leader.

The couple are 1977 Bloomsburg graduates. The gift will establish a Department of Nursing senior professorship.

Long-time supporters of Bloomsburg University, the Breiners also made a gift of $520,000 two years ago to provide four scholarships, the online publication BloomUToday.com reports.

Schramm Inc. manufactures mobile rotary drill rigs, including two that were used in the August 2010 rescue of 33 Chilean minors.

The couple has three adult children, Tyler, Andrew and Martha.
