Should Medical Cannabis Be Legal In Pennsylvania?

By

This morning members of the PA Senate State Government Committee entreated health professionals from around the country to speak on the public risks and benefits of legalized medical marijuana. The hearing anticipates a vote on Senate Bill 3, which, according to its sponsor Mike Folmer (R-48), will:

…allow patients who have a recommendation from their doctor to purchase and use medical cannabis from centers licensed by a to-be-created State Board of Medical Cannabis Licensing. The entire process would be regulated through licenses issued to: medical cannabis growers, processors and dispensers. Smoking is prohibited.

As of February 19 the bill has 26 senate co-sponsors with bipartisan support (12 Republicans and 14 Democrats).
