Did You Know?
This from our partners at Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC):
Along with five ways to make your community more walkable from the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association:
- Begin a dialogue with your community’s elected officials and planners. Talk to them about connecting and repairing sidewalks, ask about bike lanes, and about re-zoning to promote mixed use and density.
- Talk to other members in your community about the benefits of walkable communities. Form a club or coalition.
- Start a walking school bus.
- Conduct a walkability study of your community.
- Team up with local bike coalitions, transportation management associations (TMA’s), and public health organizations to advocate for active transportation.
