Coatesville Schools, Police Now Have AED Machines

The Coatesville Area School District and Coatesville police departments are now equipped with life-saving AED machines, thanks to a $15,000 donation from the Brandywine Health Foundation, CBS Philly reports.

In honor of American Heart Month, 9 machines are going to police departments, and five more to schools. The machines will be available during the school day and at athletic and other events.

The Brandywine Health Foundation works to improve the health and well-being of people who live and work in the Coatesville area by fostering community partnerships, supportive community activities, and by making grants to promote health equity, healthy youth, and a healthy community.

Since 2001 the foundation has distributed over $13.8 million in grants to non-profits in the greater Coatesville area. Read 9 other fast facts about the foundation here and the full story here.
