Vishay Of Malvern Completes $200M Circuit Design Acquisition

By

Vishay

The $200 million acquisition meant to bolster integrated circuit design capabilities for Malvern-based semiconductor and electronics company Vishay Intertechnology was completed on the last day of 2014, when the firm took over the last outstanding shares of Capella Microsystems.

The acquisition “will considerably strengthen Vishay’s position in the fast-growing market for optical sensors and significantly reduce our time to market for these products,” President and CEO Gerald Paul was paraphrased as saying in a 4-traders.com report.

The transaction was first announced last July, and Vishay purchased the bulk of Capella’s stock in September.
