Top 1 percenters in twenty-one states including neighboring New Jersey, New York and Maryland, took home more pay than did the top 1 percent of Pennsylvanians.

Just for the record, according to a report issued by the Economic Policy Institute, in 2012, the same year in which the numbers used on the above map chart were compiled,  the average annual income of the remaining 99 percent of Pennsylvanians was $43,847.
