For Chester County businesses, the main stop on the Main Line continues to be Tredyffrin Township, where job growth and business-friendly policies outpace neighbors to the north and west.

Tredyffrin tops all 10 of the Philadelphia region’s largest business locations, including nearby Malvern and Montgomery County’s Upper Merion Township, according to a new study by Econsult Solutions and the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia and heralded by county leaders.

“Tredyffrin’s tax policies, combined with unparalleled access to the regional transportation network (road, rail, and trail) and with direct access to Route 202, the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Route 422, as well as a school district that is consistently ranked among the top handful in Pennsylvania, will ensure that the township continues a high quality of life for its residents and a high value proposition for its employers,” Township Board of Supervisors Chairman Michael Heaberg said in a recent announcement.

From 2002 to 2013, Tredyffrin jobs grew 167 percent while Malvern expanded 70 percent and Upper Merion just 25 percent, in large part to the township’s low business and earned income tax burden.

Projects like the new Crosspoint building have taken advantage of Tredyffrin’s attractive zoning code and quickly attained near-100 percent tenancy.
