CCEDC Delivers Annual Review to Stakeholders for 2013-2014

The Chester County Economic Development Council delivered their 2013-2014 Annual Review to stakeholders and business leaders this morning at a breakfast event inside The Desmond Great Valley Hotel and Conference Center in Malvern. The annual “check up” notes some of the CCEDC’s success balancing progress and preservation in Chester County. Included in the Annual Report are the following highlights:

In 2013-2014, the CCEDC:

  • Expanded support for emerging technology companies and entrepreneurs, helping to secure over $1.6M in tax credits for eligible companies.
  • Forged new partnerships, resulting in the county’s third incubator at Walnut st. Labs in West Chester.
  • Continued to emphasize workforce development by engaging more than 5,500 participants from 565 companies in workforce development initiatives, and more than 3,000 youth in career exploration activities.
  • Worked closely with several municipalities and community partners to facilitate infrastructure and site improvements that focus development around targeted growth corridors, including the Lincoln University, City of Coatesville, route 1 Corridor, and the Boroughs of Avondale, Downingtown and south Coatesville.
  • Enhanced its already diverse loan portfolio by processing more than $4.3M through 13 Next Generation Farmer Loans, participating in $39.4M in total SBA project funding, securing more than $4.1M in grant support for 15 projects, and using the new PsBCI Program to facilitate $3.7M in project financing throughout southeastern Pennsylvania.
