AMETEK CEO Honored With National Entrepreneur Of The Year Award
Recognition for driving his Berwyn-headquartered global electronic and electromechanical device manufacturing empire to record-setting success is catching up with AMETEK Chairman and CEO Frank S. Hermance, who just received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 National Distribution and Manufacturing Award at a Palm Springs, Calif., gala.
“The tremendous growth of the company attributed to Frank Hermance’s exceptional leadership and innovations really stood out to us as having a significant impact on the industry as a whole,” EY Entrepreneur of the Year Americas Program Director Mike Kacsmar said in a news release. “Hermance has focused his attention on building a diverse and talented management team by providing them the opportunity and tools needed to grow a business beyond their expectations.”
The strategy that has taken AMETEK from $1 billion in 1999, when Hermance took over the company’s top spot, to $4 billion this year involved a four-pronged growth strategy along with international expansion endeavors and integration of niche acquisitions.
Hermance was praised for his hands-on and motivational leadership in particular.
