VISTA 2025 Plan Balances Progress With Preservation

Business, community and academic leaders in Chester County have come up with more than 180 strategies to guide local economic development for the next 10 years, and they plan to clue everyone in on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

VISTA 2025’s 10-year economic development strategy – with action items and targeted deadlines – will be unveiled from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Penn State Great Valley, 30 E. Swedesford Road, Malvern.

More than 200 local government, business, non-profit, and community leaders are expected to attend the program. Officials plan to share what they think is needed to encourage economic growth while maintaining the region’s attractive “quality of place.”

Here are a few hints in advance.  VISTA 2025’s leaders want to preserve and expand agriculture, retain and expand local business, and support entrepreneurism and innovation with initiatives that include access to start-up capital.

More than 50 county government officials, key business leaders, educators and non-profit executives this year contributed to the initiative, led by the Chester County Economic Development Council.
