The owner of a local Ford dealership has been elevated to chairman of Malvern Bancorp Inc. in place of longtime Chairman F. Claire Hughes.

“I’d like to thank Claire for serving as board chairman for the past seven years,” President and CEO Anthony C. Weagley said in a press release. “(Malvern Federal Savings Bank) has benefited from his business acumen and dedication. We wish him well in his retirement years and look forward to his continued presence and contributions as a board member.”

Seven-year board veteran George E. Steinmetz will move up from vice chairman, with director and East Whiteland Township Manager Therese H. Woodman filling his position.
