New Schramm Partnership Keep Drilling Rigs Going In Western U.S.

Schramm, Inc. of West Chester is thinking uptime – not down time – in partnering with FEMCO to support its customers operating in North Dakota, South Dakota and Texas.

1.26.2014 SchrammThe partnership with Punxsutawney-based FEMCO, an aftermarket parts manufacturer and emergency repair services provider, will help Schramm keep oil, gas and water drilling rigs going in those states without interruption.

In August, West Chester’s own world-class manufacturer of land-based hydraulic drilling rigs also began supporting customers in the Williston Basin of North and South Dakota with a regional service center offering 24-hour support.

A second regional service center will open in the Permian Basin of West Texas in November.  Schramm says these two areas are among the most active oil and gas regions in the country.

Schramm, headquartered at 800 E. Virginia Ave. in West Chester Borough, is a 100-year-old company with some fourth-generation employees.

Mike Dynan, vice president of aftermarket products, said the partnership enables Schramm to meet its commitment to stand behind each drilling rig and support customers in critical areas.

Scott Walker, FEMCO’s vice president of sales and marketing, said “the technical advantages provided by Schramm rigs, coupled with FEMCO’s nationwide footprint and 24/7 field service, ensure that Schramm’s customers can expect maximum operating efficiency and uptime in these crucial regions of the oil and gas landscape.”

Schramm says more than 200 of its patented Telemast rigs are in operation worldwide.  Last year Schramm introduced the T500XD designed for shale pad drilling.  This year Schramm launched the smaller, mobile T250XD for shale drilling with maximum safety and minimal environmental impact.
