In the midst of another summer full of orange construction signs and cones, word has arrived that Chester County is in the crosshairs for more than $100 million of additional roadwork in the next 10 years.

The news was announced by the nine-county Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and reported by the Daily Local News. Included in the upcoming construction project list are “safety and traffic improvements along Route 100 in Uwchlan, South Coventry, West Vincent and East Nantmeal; new roads and signal systems in Phoenixville; and an expanded Route 29 bridge linking the Schuylkill River Trail in Mont Clare to Phoenixville,” the article stated.

“These new projects will rebuild our roadway and transit systems, help them to operate more efficiently, and begin to expand the system to serve the region’s growing population and employment,” DVRPC Executive Director Barry Seymour said in the report.
