Vertex Hosts Fort Bragg Soldiers At U.S. Open

By

United States Army Airborne and Special Operations soldiers stationed at Fort Bragg recently attended the U.S. Open Golf Championship as guests of the Patriot Foundation and Vertex Inc. of Berwyn.

Retired Navy Capt. Chuck Deleot, also president of the Patriot Foundation, said Vertex’s invitation was appreciated by the soldiers.  The firm hosted a hospitality suite in the members’ clubhouse on the 18th green at Pinehurst. Vertex donated tickets to the Patriot Foundation to thank local soldiers for their service.

“Vertex enjoys attending the U.S. Open, and we wanted to share the experience of being at this exciting event with some of the fine men and women from Fort Bragg to honor their service in our own small way,” said Jeff Westphal, president and CEO of Vertex.

Vertex says it also supports the American Red Cross, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Toys for Tots, Philabundance and Unicef, and encourages volunteer efforts of employees.

The Patriot Foundation is an all-volunteer group dedicated to supporting families of Fort Bragg Airborne and Special Operations Soldiers, as well as other military groups. Since 2003 the organization has focused on providing scholarships and aid for children of soldiers who were fallen or injured from Fort Bragg. The volunteer group also provides funding for job training and development as support for surviving spouses of fallen and disabled soldiers.

Founded in 1978, Vertex Inc. is the leading provider of corporate enterprise tax software and services worldwide.  The privately held company employs over 700 professionals across the globe.
