The city of Chicago is blaming a recent epidemic in painkiller drug abuse on two Chester County companies and a host of other drug makers.
After dealing with skyrocketing addictions and overdoses to prescription painkillers, the city alledges that the bigger pain has been tracking down and blowing the whistle on what their lawyers regard as an orchestrated effort of deceptive marketing, according to news reported this week on Philly.com.
The local companies at the center of the controversy are Endo Health Solutions of Malvern and Cephalon of Frazer.
“Their deceptive messages tainted virtually every source doctors could rely on for information and prevented them from making informed treatment decisions,” the lawsuit states, as cited in the article.
