AT&T Announces 100 New Jobs, Some In Chester County

By

AT&T is hiring people to fill more than 100 key job openings in Chester County and other parts of the state.

The openings are primarily customer service and retail jobs as the company continues to invest in Pennsylvania.

“AT&T continues to expand our customer base in Pennsylvania and invest in our network to ensure we are providing the high level of service customers have come to expect of the nation’s largest most reliable 4G LTE network,” J. Michael Schweder, president of AT&T Mid Atlantic said in a company news release.

“As part of our commitment to this level of customer service and to support our growth in Pennsylvania, we are pleased to have the opportunity to welcome more people to the AT&T family.”

AT&T reports it has more than 2,750 employees throughout Pennsylvania. It says its full and part-time jobs offer competitive wages and benefits. The company says it wants to hire 10,000 military veterans in the next five years and established a Military Talent Attraction team.

About 55 percent of the veterans hired by AT&T in 2013 made their transition to the private sector as technicians. Other veterans and their family members are being hired as IT professionals, retail and call center representatives, project managers, financial analysts and supply chain managers.

AT&T says the self-discipline, teamwork and skills gained during military service are a good fit for the corporation. The military hiring program has been recognized by Electronic Recruiting Exchange as the Best Military Talent Program, and AT&T is included in the G.I. Jobs 2013 Top Military Friendly Employers, our eighth year on that list.
