If you’re headed to traffic court, chances are your auto insurance company is going to know about your offense sooner rather than later due to IT software available from the international firm SunGard Availability Services.

SunGard AS, with international headquarters in Wayne, helps insurance, finance, manufacturing and health care companies manage their businesses. The company announced in a news release it saw an uptick in business toward the end of 2013.

SunGard AS offers disaster recovery management software, enterprise cloud computing and managed hosting. Its managed IT services are allowing the company DriversHistory.com to provide insurance carriers with very up-to-date court-based traffic violation data even before that information is available to them from state departments of motor vehicles.

SunGard also says more and more companies, including LOGIQ3 (www.logiq3.com) are seeking them out to help with managed IT as they move to cloud computing. LOGIQ3, with offices in Canada and Wales, specializes in life insurance and reinsurance consulting, claims and auditing.

Shaw Systems, Inc. also tapped SunGard AS to refresh its technology infrastructure. In its cloud, Shaw – with offices in Richmond, Va. and Houston, Tx.- is helping its clients both reduce risks and cater to new customer markets.

“Shaw clients work smarter,” boasts the company, which consults for banks, credit unions and other business lenders.

SunGard says it also has a “deep heritage” of helping diverse businesses solve complex disaster recovery challenges. The company custom-designs data back-up and recovery solutions and counts among its clients 50 percent of all Fortune 500 companies.

SunGard also announced it recently named Keith Tilley of the United Kingdom as executive vice president. Sungard has nine international offices.
