Grant Allows Kids To Dive Into Watershed Learning From Brandywine Red Clay Alliance
Inner-city Coatesville kids now have the chance to plunge into learning about the importance of water quality through the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance watershed initiative thanks to a $4,500 grant from Pennsylvania American Water.
“Thanks to this generous support , we were able to open the door to our natural world through fun, hands-on learning for these children, who would not otherwise have this opportunity,” Alliance Executive Director James E. Jordan Jr. said in a recent Unionville Times report.
The company’s Environmental Grant Program money will fund a summer environmental education camp at Saalbach Farm, where the kids will receive “hands-on experience enjoying and learning about the watershed and stewardship practices to sustain the quality of local water resources,” the article stated.
