Coatesville teenagers Max and Colton Hiller currently dominate Coatesville Area High School athletics across two different sports, writes Isabella DiAmore for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Max, currently a rising junior, plays football as one of the highest-ranked offensive tackles in the country. 15-year-old Colton plays basketball, and was ranked by ESPN as the fourth best in the nation for his high school class cohort.
This summer alone, the duo has reached remarkable success. Colton won gold for the under-16 U.S. National Team in Mexico while Max competed in the Futures 50 Under-Armour Tournament in Florida.
Parents AJ and Amy Hiller have supported the brothers’ talents since childhood. Colton and Max each tried out different sports before settling into basketball and football.
AJ said, “Not in a million years I thought I would have one kid getting this much attention in athletics. To have two, it’s just wild.”
Looking to the future, the pair each boast dozens of scholarship offers from top universities across the country.
Max has offers from Clemson, Ohio State, and Penn State. Rising sophomore Colton already has offers from Villanova and Syracuse.
Across the often chaotic life of competitive athletics, the brothers remain supportive of one another. About time spent with their family, Max said, “We take advantage of that when we are home…It’s stressful, but it’s super enjoyable and fun.”
