School-Age Childcare Director at Brandywine

This person in this position will operate under the direction of the Senior Program Director and will be responsible for overseeing the development and operations of six childcare sites and share summer-camp responsibilities. He/she will supervise full-time staff, coordinators, part-time staff, and camp counselors. The candidate is required to complete annual Keystone STARS training and comply with the branch’s STAR level requirements. Candidates must have proven skills in staff leadership and supervision, youth development, and relationship building.

A bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required, as well as two years of direct supervisory experience. Experience in childcare administration or child/youth programming is preferred, as well as experience working with Keystone STARS and progressing through the Keystone STARS levels.

Preschool Lead Teacher at Brandywine

The person in this position will create and implement lesson plans, follow DPW regulations, and maintain a safe learning environment for the children. He/she will plan an educational program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of both the individual and the group. The candidate will also establish and maintain positive communication with children, parents, and staff, and will be responsible for the supervision of assistant teachers.

The Preschool Lead Teacher will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, Human Services or a related field that complies with DPW regulations. He/she will have a minimum of two years of experience working with preschoolers in a classroom setting and some experience developing and implementing programs for multiple ages (six weeks to five years of age). He/she must obtain the proper clearances for working with children.

Assistant Early Learning Center Teacher at Upper Main Line

This individual will operate under the direction of the Childcare Director to provide quality childcare while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. Duties include diapering, cleaning and dressing children for outside walks, and general childcare. He/she must have the ability to interact positively with children and communicate professionally with parents.

The candidate will either possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, Human Services, or a related field, or have a high-school diploma with two years of experience with children. He/she must obtain the proper clearances for working with children.

The candidate will possess either a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, Human Services or a related field, or an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of two years of experience. Montessori Assistant Teacher at West Chester (Airport Road)

This position will assist the Montessori Director of Education and Lead Montessori Teacher in the planning and implementation of the essential components of a Montessori classroom that will engage a preschooler into a world of accelerated social, emotional, intellectual, and cognitive development. He/she will act as an observer and keep an open, creative mind when understanding each child’s needs within the environment.

The candidate must be at least 21 years old and hold a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Dducation, Elementary Education, or Human Services. He/she must have one year of Preschool experience and exhibit the basic core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. A Montessori Certification is preferred.

Montessori Aide at West Chester (Airport Road)

This position will oversee the safety and whereabouts of the children in the group at all times, providing a safe, interactive program. He/she will interact with the children to encourage development and involvement in activities, and will mentor children around the YMCA Core Values. The candidate must obtain all the necessary clearances for working with children.

The person in this position must be 18 years old with a high school diploma, and have experience working with children. Preference will be given to those with college credits in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or Human Services.
