Come to Pennsburg’s Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center on May 15 and 16 for Penn Dry Goods, an event with great shopping for the crafter and sewer.
This year, the popular rummage sale is bigger than ever with fabric, craft projects, notions, and historic patterns and books providing great finds.
A select number of dealers focused on historic and vintage textile dry goods also will have fabulous quilts, samplers, rugs, and even buttons for sale.
Throughout the two days, demonstrations will share how to sew, knit, quilt, spin, and braid rugs.
Breakfast and lunch can be bought at the food tent, along with baked goods. Admission for the event is a low $5 per person.
With advance reservation, people may register for Quilt Identification Sessions, a quilt turning, and lectures. Quilt expert Barb Garrett will evaluate one quilt per person for $15 for a 15-minute session. Lectures and the quilt turning are $25 each when tickets are purchased ahead, $35 at the door.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
All proceeds support the museum and library in its collection preservation, exhibitions, and programming.
