Best Chicken Wings in Montgomery County, According to Locals

Crispy wings and seasoned fries from Fingers Wings & Other Things, one of Montgomery County locals’ most recommended spots for great wings

Montgomery County locals take their wings seriously. Ask where to get good winds near Blue Bell, and you will get strong opinions fast.

A recent Reddit thread did exactly that. One simple question. Where are the best wings in and around Blue Bell, give or take a twenty-minute drive in any direction?

Dozens of locals weighed in, and a few clear favorites kept coming up.

At the top of the list sits Fingers, Wings & Other Things. Known as FWOT, it showed up again and again in the conversation. Locals point to its sauce selection and consistency. One commenter summed it up simply. FWOT and FWOT only.

Not far behind, Union Jack’s Inn on the Manatawny earned steady support. Regulars highlighted everything from classic buffalo to grilled jerk wings.

Alex’s Steaks & Wings in Norristown also stood out. Several locals called out the size and quality of the wings, noting they are never frozen and come loaded with sauce.

High Steaks in Ambler continues to build a reputation as well. Commenters described it as a go-to for both wings and cheesesteaks, with one calling it the best in the area, hands down.

PJ Whelihan’s still made the list, though with more mixed feedback. It remains a recognizable name across the region, even as some locals say it is not what it used to be.

Beyond those standouts, the thread surfaced a deep bench of options across Montgomery County. Spots like Phil’s Tavern, Capone’s, Magerk’s, Iron Abbey, Harleysville Hotel, and Wister’s Bar & Grill all earned mentions.

The takeaway is simple. There is no shortage of great wings in Montco. A few names dominate the conversation, but the best spot often comes down to what you want.

Big and saucy, crispy and classic, or something a little different.

Montgomery County delivers no shortage of strong wing spots, with a few clear favorites leading the way.
