Stronger Together: The Arc of Chester County Celebrates National Disabilities Awareness Month 2026

The Arc of Chester County is hosting several events in March to recognize National Disabilities Awareness Month.

This March, The Arc of Chester County invites the community to come together in recognition of National Disabilities Awareness Month — a time dedicated to promoting inclusion, expanding opportunities, and celebrating the contributions of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Throughout the month, The Arc will host a variety of events and partnerships designed to educate, inspire, and connect the community while supporting individuals with disabilities and their families.

Despite growing awareness, many people with disabilities continue to face barriers to employment, access to services, and full participation in community life. National Disabilities Awareness Month serves as an important reminder that building a truly inclusive community requires the ongoing commitment from everyone.

Dine & Donate

The Arc is partnering with Sedona Taphouse in West Chester for a special Dine & Donate event. Community members can support The Arc simply by enjoying a meal, with a portion of proceeds benefiting The Arc’s programs and services.

Every Monday for the entire month of March, enjoy 50 percent off a great meal at Sedona Taphouse in West Chester while doing your part for charity. For every half-price 8 oz. black angus flat Iron steak or 7 oz. grilled salmon entrée sold, Sedona Taphouse will donate to The Arc of Chester County.

The Arc will also be partnering with the Chick-fil-A in West Chester, located at the West Goshen Shopping Center, on March 24th from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM for a Dine and Donate event. Order through the Chick-fil-A app at that time, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Arc of Chester County.

Chat-n-Chew

The Arc will also present its popular Chat-n-Chew Speaker Series, offering free, expert-led discussions on topics that matter most to individuals with disabilities and their families. March sessions will cover ABLE Accounts: Planning for a More Secure Future, Estate Planning & Special Needs Trusts, and From School to Adulthood: Transition Planning for Students with Disabilities.

Fun March Activities

In addition, the organization’s Recreation Calendar is packed with fun, inclusive activities, including a game night, spring Craft, a trip to King of Prussia Mall and dinner, and karaoke.

“National Disabilities Awareness Month is about celebrating abilities, educating the community, amplifying voices, and creating opportunities for everyone,” said Jeanne Meikrantz, CEO of The Arc of Chester County. “We invite the entire community to join us — whether by attending an event, dining with our partners, or simply learning more.”

The Arc empowers individuals with disabilities and their families through advocacy, education, and essential support services, fostering a more inclusive community for all.
