Prices for riverfront homes in New Hope have surged in recent years, driven by limited inventory and a growing influx of celebrities to the charming Bucks County town, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The recent sale of a Delaware River property for $9.5 million highlighted the durability of higher home prices in the area.
Although Bucks County’s ultra-luxury market has historically been dominated by large farm properties, demand has increasingly focused on smaller Main Street lots in New Hope, where eye-popping sales have become the norm.
These homes do not need to be brand new or sprawling. Instead, river views, boat access, and walkability to Main Street dining and shopping continue to drive prices upward.
Situated on the Pennsylvania and New Jersey border, New Hope has captured the interest of deep-pocketed buyers from New York and the local pharmaceutical industry.
That appeal has extended to Hollywood, with celebrities such as the Hadid family and actor Bradley Cooper now among its residents.
“New Hope is changing,” said Maureen Reynolds, an agent with Serhant Pennsylvania. “The restaurants, the stores, it’s becoming an area that everybody is drawn to.”
