Chester County residents can make the most of January and February with the county’s exciting lineup of winter events, writes Max Bennett for Patch.
Here are five upcoming events to help you get out of the house and enjoy the late winter season.
The Borough—Downingtown. At 6:30 PM on Feb. 1, The Borough will host a lineup of comedians for a hilarious night with ‘The Love of Comedy.’ Featured performers include Kenny Williams, Tommy Highland, and Ed Daniels. Tickets are available for $25.
Ghibli in Concert—Berwyn. Set for 2 PM on Feb. 8, pianists Ting-Ting Chang and Betty Sawyer will perform music from beloved Studio Ghibli movies, including the musical scores from My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. The performance, which will take place at the Easttown Library, will be accompanied by visuals and scenes from the movies on a projected screen.
Steel Chef Competition—Phoenixville. Are you a fan of Top Chef? If so, stop by this event bringing fun culinary competition to Phoenixville on Jan. 30. The night will benefit Ann’s Heart and Phoenixville Area Community Services with fundraising opportunities between cooking rounds.
Penn Woods Winery—Chadds Ford. Each weekend in February, Penn Woods Winery will host delicious wine and chocolate pairings on-site at the winery. Patrons can enjoy four wines paired with gourmet chocolates for $38 per person.
‘Footprints in the Snow’ Lecture—Berwyn. On Feb. 10, historian Mike Jesberger will lead a seminar on George Washington and the Continental Army. The free-to-attend event will take place at the Easttown Library at 6:45 PM.
