New York-Based Social Wellness Brand Bathhouse to Expand to Philadelphia

The New York-based social wellness brand, Bathhouse, will be expanding to Philadelphia in mid-2026. It will open inside the Bellevue Hotel on South Broad Street.

Bathhouse, the New York-based social wellness brand, is preparing to open its first Philadelphia location, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The facility will be located inside the historic Bellevue Hotel and will bring four pools and four saunas to the South Broad Street building.

According to co-founder Travis Talmadge, the new Bathhouse location will occupy roughly 36,000 square feet across several floors, including a portion of the former Tiffany & Co. space.

Around 100 people are expected to be employed there, and its opening is expected for the middle of 2026.

Talmadge spoke on why the company decided to expand to Philadelphia.

“Philly’s a great city and full of great people, and pretty active,” Talmadge said.

While the Bathhouse entrance will be in the former Tiffany space, the majority of its amenities will be located in the basement. There will be three saunas — including an infrared sauna, dry sauna, and gas-powered sauna — a steam room and three pools.

Meanwhile, the third-floor outdoor terrace will include an outdoor pool, a fourth sauna, lounge space, and another concessions area.

Bathhouse’s first location opened in Brooklyn in November 2019. The founders are working on national brand expansion.
