Chester County residents can show off their strength and help break a Guinness World Record at an upcoming event, writes Michael Vyskocil for 92.5 XTU.
A group of locals is seeking to break the world record for the Longest Chain Push-up on Nov. 15. The team is spearheaded by Devin Gage, owner of West Chester’s Gage Strength Training.
Gage is seeking 150 participants to register and join the event to surpass the current record of 136 people.
The event will take place at 2 PM on Nov. 15 at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown. Interested participants can apply through the team’s website to get in touch with Gage and join the team.
The event will also be recorded and conducted in line with the Guinness World Record guidelines.
But the day’s goals go beyond breaking a world record. Donations and proceeds from the event will go toward Team Foster, a Pennsylvania non-profit that connects veterans with service animals.
About the significance of the event, Gage said, “This is more than just breaking a record. It’s about showing what happens when a community comes together—pushing for something bigger than ourselves and giving back to the men and women who’ve sacrificed for us.”
