CSL is laying off 55 employees from Vifor subsidiary assigned to its King of Prussia office in a 15 percent workforce reduction announced in August, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“Following a thorough assessment of our business needs and the broader economic environment, we have reorganized our field-based teams to support our evolving product portfolio and better align with our long-term goals,” said the company.
The job cuts which affect around 3,000 people are related to the restructuring of CSL’s medical affairs and commercial teams in the United States.
CSL submitted a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing with Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, indicating 55 Vifor positions will be eliminated at its King of Prussia office, located at 1000 First Avenue, effective December 1.
“While these employees are spread out across the country, they officially report to our headquarters in King of Prussia, which is why a WARN Act notice was triggered,” said the company.
CSL is the parent company of CSL Behring, based in King of Prussia, a biopharmaceutical firm focusing on plasma-derived and recombinant therapies for rare and serious medical conditions.
