The full trailer for Saquon, the new Saquon Barkley documentary from Prime Video, set to premiere on Oct. 9, has been released, writes Ariel Simpson for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Prime Video announced its latest documentary in its Philly sports series earlier this month, which will follow the Eagles running back’s quest for his first Super Bowl.
The project, five years in the making, is directed by Alex Pappas, with Martin Scorsese as executive producer.
The documentary will premiere on the day of the Eagles’ first kickoff this season against the New York Giants, Barkley’s former team. The project announcement was accompanied by a 40-second teaser that shows a clip of Barkley negotiating with the Giants before he decided to join the Eagles in the 2024 offseason.
The documentary will also highlight his recovery after he suffered an ACL tear at the beginning of the 2020 season.
The latest trailer gives a fuller picture of what to expect from Saquon, who lives in Malvern, including glimpses of his family as his daughter, Jada, tells him to join the Eagles. There’s a look back at his youth as he played Pop Warner ball, and his reaction to being drafted.
