Chester County OIC (CCOIC) is kicking off September with exciting updates in education, workforce development, and community partnerships that reflect its mission to break down barriers and build pathways to opportunity.
New Partnership to End Homelessness
This month, CCOIC debuted its membership in the Chester County Partnership to End Homelessness, a network of over 700 organizations dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness throughout the county. Through this collaboration, CCOIC gains access to promotional platforms, professional development opportunities, funding connections, and strengthened partnerships with mission-aligned organizations.
Adult Education Program Launch
The 2025-2026 Adult Education Program year is now underway, as ten dedicated educators returned on Sept. 3 to lead CCOIC’s Adult Education classes. These programs play a vital role in supporting residents on their journey toward economic mobility and personal growth. Community members and organizations interested in supporting these efforts can connect with CCOIC’s development team for partnership opportunities.
Workforce Programming Updates
September is full of workforce initiatives designed to equip individuals with practical skills and employment opportunities. Chesco Connect training relaunched on Sept. 2, and enrollment is now open for Smart Energy Solar Panel Training. Work Enclave interviews are ongoing, and the highly anticipated Opportunity Fair returns on Sept. 18, offering residents a direct path toward new career prospects. August also brought success for several Driver’s Education students, and PA CareerLink Awareness Day is just around the corner.
OIC Annual Convening
CCOIC leadership recently joined affiliates and partners from across the country at OIC of America’s 2025 Annual Convening in Philadelphia. President and CEO Javonna Wylie and Finance Manager Rashad Hobson represented Chester County, with Wylie speaking on a panel about best practices in workforce solutions and staff retention.
Investing in the Next Generation
In August, CCOIC participated in STEMfest Philadelphia, bringing 53 Chester County students to explore hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities. The event was an inspiring opportunity for youth to connect with STEM professionals and envision futures in innovation.
As September unfolds, CCOIC continues to expand its reach through education, workforce programming, and community partnerships — ensuring a brighter, more equitable future for Chester County residents.
