Wawa workers are underappreciated, dealing with thousands of Wawa customers, keeping it all humming 24/7, writes Chris Coleman for We Are New Jersey.
Every once in a while, a customer may do something annoying. Hard to believe, but true.
Some people, apparently, have no problem walking behind a counter to look for something instead of asking.
Some customers apparently wash their hands behind the hoagie counter.
A Reddit question recently popped up asking what the biggest customer pet peeve is for those who work at Wawa.
Here’s some of the answers the workers provided:
“Customers that order drinks online and then get mad that their smoothie melted because they showed up 20 to 30 minutes after placing the order.”
“Mine is when I’m in deli and people think it’s OK to watch us like we are fish in a fishbowl.”
“People that block the pickup counter when their order isn’t called/ready.”
“Stop pressing every freaking button! Make some sacrifices! Do you really need hot peppers, sweet peppers, and jalapenos on your order with onions, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, etc.? It adds up fast!”
“Hi there! How’s your day so far?” “Newport Shorts.” “Every single time.”
