In just two shifts, Nancy Maratea, RN, of Chester County Hospital’s Mother Baby Unit, made a profound difference in the life of a patient navigating one of the most vulnerable times of her life.
While her clinical expertise was clear, it was Maratea’s compassion, advocacy, and attention to the smallest details that left the greatest impact.
From the moment she entered the patient’s room, Maratea listened without judgment, offering a safe space where concerns could be shared openly. She quietly and effectively advocated for her patient’s needs, ensuring her voice was heard without requiring her to relive a painful conversation. This thoughtful protection of her emotional well-being was as meaningful as any medical intervention.
