Legendary actor and longtime Phoenixville arts supporter Kevin Bacon is releasing a limited-edition beer collection for Philadelphia breweries, writes Kristin Hunt for PhillyVoice.
Titled Six Degrees Fermentation, the Kevin Bacon-inspired beer will be available on tap and in six packs across six Philadelphia breweries from May 28 to June 30. The beer itself is a light 4% ABV Kölsch, complete with illustrations of Bacon’s iconic film characters on the can.
The beer’s proceeds will go toward his nonprofit SixDegrees, which collaborates with other grassroots organizations across the country. SixDegrees programming includes providing resource bags and production assistance for youth storytelling initiatives.
A Philadelphia native, Bacon and his family have been supporters of the Phoenixville arts community for decades.
With his brother Michael, Bacon used to spend weekends at his grandmother’s home in Phoenixville. The brothers perform as the music duo Bacon Brothers. The pair continue to do fundraising events in support of the Colonial Theatre.
Patrons who drink a Six Degrees Fermentation beer at all six breweries will be entered to win two VIP tickets to an upcoming Bacon Brothers show in Philadelphia.
At an upcoming launch event at Yards Taproom on May 28, guests can enter a Kevin Bacon costume contest, connect with local nonprofits, and receive a sticker that reads “What’s Shakin’ Bacon” with a donation of $6 or more.
