Overall in the Philadelphia region, the average time for a typical emergency room visit is three and a half hours, which is 50 minutes above the national average.

Additionally, ER visits were even longer at three out of every four hospitals in Greater Philadelphia between 2021 and 2024. 

According to 2023–2024 CMS data, an average emergency room visit to Chester County Hospital takes four hours, placing it ninth among the hospitals in the region. 

A wait-time at Paoli Hospital typically lasts around 3 hours and 36 minutes.

Meanwhile, Phoenixville Hospital has one of the shortest average ER visit times in both the county and the region, at 3 hours and 8 minutes.
