DCCC’s Return to Learn Week May 13-15 Offers Learning, Fun, and Fellowship for Adults 55 And Older

Register by May 9 for DCCC’s Return to Learn Week for adults 55 and older.

Delaware County Community College (DCCC) will hold its 40th annual Return to Learn Week (formerly Elder Week) on May 13, 14 and 15, during which community members 55 years and older can learn new skills, make new friends and immerse themselves in new subject matter in specially designed mini-classes on the College’s Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media).

Students will find courses ranging from American Sign Language to Astronomy and Astrochemistry, Civil War History to Landscape Design, Contemporary Short Stories to Earring Making, and iPhone and Android Basics to Downsizing. Students can also take fitness and yoga classes and learn Tai Chi and Qiong. “There is literally something for everyone,” said Tricia Scepansky, the College’s Director of Community Education.

Registration is $130 for all three days, or $115 for two days, which includes eight workshops, continental breakfast, and tempting lunches. Most classes and activities will take place in the College’s modern, light-filled STEM Center, which is conveniently located next to the parking lots and easily accessible for all students. Find out more here.

Advance registration is required and limited. Classes and workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The preferred form of registration and payment is by phone with a credit card at 610-359-5025. The registration deadline is May 9. Mail-in registrations should be postmarked no later than May 9.

The College cannot guarantee class placement but will do its best to enroll registrants in the classes they most desire. Placement is based on rolling enrollment. Return to Learn Week is co-sponsored by the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging and Delaware County Community College.
